It may take you a lot of time to prepare for a job interview, but the employer tends to take only the first 10 minutes to assess the candidate. Therefore, you should make a really good impression to the employer during this precious 10 minutes with clever answers that you have prepared carefully beforehand.

As you know, behavioral interview question is one of the three most frequent types of questions used in any interview. If you can make a good answer to these questions, you will surely take a hold of 50% the chance to succeed then.

Many employers believe that this type of question is not too much difficult. Behavioral questions are based on your experience in the past; therefore, you will be able to predict the questions of the employer.

For example, if you mention in your Resume that you have a "good leadership skill", you can expect the employer to ask you the following question: "Tell me about an occasion when you use your leadership skill to make a great performance at work". Another example, if you say that you "have ability to deal with problems", then the interview answer may be "Tell me about a specific occasion when you use your perception ability and sensitivity to deal with a problem at work previously".

As for this type of question, you need to make a detailed answer as much as possible. Therefore, you must describe specifically the action you took to deal with the problem. The SAR method as below will be likely to be useful for you:

Situation (accounts for 25% of result): What problem were you dealing with? Which situation were you in then?

Action (accounts for 50% of result): What did you do specifically? What was your role in solving the problem?

Result (accounts for 25% of result): How was the result? What experience have you gained then?

In the worst case (hopefully you will not encounter it!) is that you have never face with such situation asked by the employer before. Then, you must imagine how you will do to resolve the situation. The employer may care about how you assess a problem and make solution instead of what you did in reality to solve such a problem.

Your answer should be interesting and descriptive enough about actions you took. This is not so much difficult. Light up your talent, your ability. Let the employer know that you are much more outstanding than other "medium" candidates.
